Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to receive donations or funding and organise fundraising activities are:

  • Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

  • Legal obligation – we have to collect or use your information so we can comply with the law. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to erasure, the right to object and the right to data portability.

  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:
    - When seeking donations, we need to be able to evidence the efficacy of our organisation. As a result of this, we track 'members' as those who are registered as visiting our premise or using our services.

  • Our organisation’s constitution states that an individual must be a "Member" for at least 12 months prior to being considered for nomination as a Trustee.

  • We are required by law to provide OSCR, the Scottish Charities Regulator, with the names and email addresses of all of our elected Trustees

How long we keep information
We will retain our membership data for a maximum of 5 years, seeking permission to update or refresh an individual’s data annually. Trustee data is retained for a maximum of 15 months only, and updated during our AGM.
