Food: Food is available in the local area from various shops in the city centre. Please consider bringing your own food.

Event schedule:

  • 12:00 – Doors open, participants check in

  • 12:15 – Introduction, agenda and event background

  • 12:45 – First organised game

  • 14:15 – Second organised game

  • 15:45 – Start of free gaming and additional (optional) activities

  • Hobby Competition

  • 17:00 – Toff Off Battle Royal

  • 17:30 – Prizes

  • 18:00 – Close

The two organised games are the core of the event. Participants must bring the items listed below in order to attend.

What you need to bring for the organised games:

Participants are required to bring their own miniatures to play (painted or unpainted, it does not matter). A limited number of tickets is available for people who do not have an army and want to participate in the event (they need to buy the “I Need an Army” ticket).

Participants that wish to bring and use their own terrain are encouraged to do so.

Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of the rules.

All participants must bring dice and tape measure (in inches).

You do not need to know the rules or have played before in order to attend.

Size of organised games:

1 Toff, 2 Toadies as per core rulebook. Cults will be used and all Cults are allowed.

Hobby Competition (optional activity):

Each participant can submit a single Turnip28 themed miniature for the hobby competition, together with a brief description. This will be done after the end of the organised games (around 15:45).

All miniatures submitted for the hobby competition will be displayed until 17:30.

Miniatures submitted for the hobby competition can be painted or unpainted.

All participants will be able to vote and determine a winner for each of the following categories:

  • Tatered & Torn: Best for weathering and battle damage, because nothing in Turnip28 should look remotely clean.

  • Root Awakening: Most horrifying mini. What is more terrifying than sentient vegetables?

  • Mash-terpiece: Best conversion/kitbash, whether it’s a stitched-together horror or a knight with a colander helmet.

Toff Off Battle Royal (optional activity):

If you want to find out what this is, you will have to attend the event!

Prizes:

There will be prizes for the organised gaming and all the optional activities and these will be miniatures hand sculpted, cast and very kindly provided by Marcello Rizza and Andrew May Meridian Miniatures (https://www.meridianminiatures.co.uk/).

Here are Instagram links to Marcello's and Andrew May's Instagram profiles so that you can get hyped about the prizes:

Deadpool & Wolverine Boardgame

We don't know what he's up to, but Niall has planned a Deadpool & Wolverine-inspired board game event Thursday night (1st August).

He won't reveal much, except that it's an easy-to-play game he's introduced before. He promises you'll get the hang of it within a turn or two. We must, however, deny all requests he makes for a unicorn and 200 chimichangas. And no, we don't know where he got the Adamantium.

Kirkcaldy Gaming Society presents GM101

Are you ready to step into the world of running your very own campaign? Come along to GM 101 where our talented games masters will walk you through some aspects of setting up and running your very own TTRPG campaign, with a heavy emphasis on D&D 5th Edition.

By the end of this session, you should be equipped with all the tools and skills needed to run your own module-based sessions!

What are we covering?

This session will take place in 5 distinct sections:

  1. Introduction

  2. Role Play & Open-ended scenarios

  3. Combat Running and Balancing

  4. Preparing and Running a Module

  5. FAQ/Q&A Session

What we are not covering (at least not yet!)

The session is for Beginner Games Masters, specifically someone who has either never run a game, or has done so but not felt it went well. We won’t therefore be covering some advanced topics such as:

  • Worldbuilding

  • Homebrewing

  • Monster Behaviour

  • Campaign Creation

  • Running a Campaign

  • Custom Mechanics

FAQ

But I already drew the map for my homebrew adventure?!

We’re not saying you cannot run a customised homebrewed adventure. We recommend a published, well-known and well-run module as a great starting place to build your skill and confidence. The wider KGS community has dozens of GM’s ready to offer advice on every minuscule detail of running large and complex campaigns, but for now, we’re starting small. Run a module, with confidence, and build from there.

A legendary hero thought lost has resurfaced. Can you rescue what cannot be saved?

D&D Epics are exciting multi-table events where participants cooperate in a “mass raid” of truly EPIC proportions; as every table works toward the same goal, individual tables act as squads that might take on different tasks, possibly affecting other tables or unlocking side quests needed to progress the event.

DM tickets: Available now!

Player tickets: Available on Thursday 8th February at 4pm
